Vaccinate - Or Not

Vaccinate - Or Not

With the recent outbreak of measles, which seemed to be happening all over the world, I found it really difficult to find any place that we agree with the current Anti Vaxxers plant.

When I, my family and friends were growing up, many years ago, it was common for children with measles, mumps, poultry and so on, groups so that most children got the disease early enough, had strong immune systems to deal with and helped build more antibodies. Looking back, however, it seems that these diseases were not as irritating as they are today.

I wonder if this is because our reaction to our changing world is not as effective as when I was growing up?

Anti Vaxxers seem to be right with the fact that maybe One in a million (or a few million) children have a drug allergy. But they do not seem to be able to accept that if childhood diseases are severe and can cause a very serious reaction, vaccination against this, at this time and the level of knowledge and scientific expertise, is the best option to be the largest number of children protected from these serious diseases.

The rapid pace of the measles epidemic, which was rampant, is a clear indication that NO vaccine has left millions of children affected by today's version of what was considered normal growth.

Today, studies have shown that 140,000 more people die from measles ONLY. Most of them are children under the age of five. Sadly, before anyone considering it, a parent or not, decided that vaccination was not only effective, but also dangerous for our children, the incidence of these diseases had reduced side effects by 70 percent. Not to eradicate the disease itself, but while the children were being vaccinated, we were heading for the required 95% reduction rate which would ensure that fewer children would die from these diseases.

Now, we are about to return to the first round of immunization campaigns, where there was / was nothing we could do / do without praying for our child to be infected by an unvaccinated child.

My research has shown me that vaccines are thoroughly researched before any are submitted to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for approval. And that too much research shows that vaccines are safe.

There is a chance of a negative reaction to any vaccine, but that applies to almost everything, think of milk, gluten, honey and even. It is also known that some people can get sick even after being vaccinated, but the reaction is very mild.

It is also recommended that some with weakened immune systems be advised not to be vaccinated, or only under strict supervision, by a registered health care provider.

We are a hundred times more likely to be struck by lightning than to be allergic to a drug that protects us from measles and other modern diseases.

To be honest, I would rather use another million + chances for my child to get autism at the source, at least for a living, (now contended claim), than for my child to experience the terrible consequences of MY decision for them, to the point of dying from the disease itself.
